Timothy Nicholas is the Inflammation, Immunology, and Internal Medicine Pharmacometric Group Leader within the Pharmacometrics and Systems Pharmacology organization at Pfizer. His group supports model informed drug development (MIDD) through innovative pharmacometric strategy and application from first in human/patient through approval and into post-marketing. He received his B.S. from University of California at Berkeley, a M.S. in Clinical Science from San Francisco State University, and a Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences from University of Connecticut. Timothy has worked in the field of quantitative pharmacology for a myriad of pharmaceutical companies over the past 25+ years. He served as the founding Chair for the International Society of Pharmacometrics (ISoP) Technology committee, Co-chair for the Disease Modeling Workgroup for Critical Path for Parkinson’s (CPP), Co-lead for the Coalition Against Major Diseases (CAMD) Modeling Workgroup, and has been an invited lecturer for multiple symposia at FDA and academic workshops. Areas of interest are applications of modeling to pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamic (PK/PD) and longitudinal disease progression data, clinical trial design through simulation, model based meta-analysis (MBMA), artificial intelligence and machine learning (AIML), and process automation.
