Rachel Garner, PharmD, Altimmune  

Rachel Garner has been Vice President of Clinical Development at Altimmune since May 2025. She has over 25 years of drug development experience at small and large organizations working across all phases of drug development. A clinical pharmacologist by training, Rachel has specialized in early phase development and pharmacokinetics and also has experience in medical writing. Most recently, Rachel was the Executive Director, Clinical Scientist at Rivus Pharmaceuticals overseeing programs in MASH and HFpEF. Prior to Rivus, she was Executive Director, Clinical Science at Provention Bio where she was a member of the clinical development team that was responsible for the approval of teplizumab (TzieldTM) for delaying the onset of Stage 3 Type 1 diabetes. Rachel holds BS in Microbiology and PharmD degrees from the University of Maryland, and she completed fellowship training in clinical pharmacology and drug development at SmithKline Beecham.
