Lauren Shinaberry is AbbVie’s Director of the Clinical Data & Reporting Standards leading a global team that defines standards for data collection through reporting across all AbbVie’s therapeutic areas. Her team also provides SDTM consultation to study teams and creates SDTM define.xml, cSDRGs and SDTM aCRFs for studies. The success of her team relies on robust cross-functional collaboration with a wide variety of subject matter experts. Lauren’s clinical research career spans nearly 3 decades and, in addition to standards, has included data management, database programming and statistical programming. She has worked at CROs as well as pharma, in both the US and Europe. She has been a volunteer for CDISC since 2004 and has been a CDASH and SDTM trainer for CDISC for many years. Lauren holds an M.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering and Biomechanics from The University of Toledo and has co-authored several published articles on standards over the years. Her current career focus is continuing to build a world class standards organization within AbbVie and driving innovation through metadata-based automation of the clinical research data flow that leverages the latest technology.
